Costa Blanca, Spain   Muchamiel is located in the Costa Blanca region, Spain. Muchamiel is a small inland
village only 10 km from Alicante city, and 20km from Alicante Airport. This village is also known as Mutxamel
in Valenciana. Translated to English it is known as "Lots of Honey". It is mainly an agricultural area which boasts of growing the best tomatoes in Europe. There are fine examples of interesting canals, dams and irrigations ditches of the River Monnegre.
     
 
Muchamiel / Mutxamel village has been linked with Alicante until it became independent in 1736. Because of its' closeness to Alicante city it has become a popular summer retreat for the Spanards to escape from the stress of city living. The places of interest in the village are "Conde de Monemar", The Peñacerrada Palace. Also of great interest is the 14th Century Gothic Church, recently restored.
Public Transport
  We are located 1.5km from Muchamiel village. There are public buses to San Juan Beach (summer timetable only), Alicante and El Campello. However car hire is recommend for your holiday. Along the coast there are daily trams/trains that travels from Alicante to Denia. There are a range of restaurants and bars in the village and the large shopping centres can be found in Gran Via, Puerto del Mar and Al Campo. Corte Inglés is the largest department store and can be found in Alicante City. All these are within a 10km radius.
